About WikiForms

A free, open-source form and quiz builder for the Wikimedia ecosystem.

WikiForms was created to give the Wikimedia community a privacy-respecting, open-source alternative to third-party form builders โ€” one that lives entirely within the Wikimedia ecosystem.

What is WikiForms?

WikiForms is a drag-and-drop form and quiz builder hosted on Wikimedia Toolforge. It allows Wikipedia editors, researchers, and community members to create structured data collection forms and secure quizzes โ€” without leaving the Wikimedia ecosystem and without sharing data with third-party corporations.

Login is handled entirely through your existing Wikipedia account via MediaWiki OAuth 2.0 โ€” no separate sign-up required.

Why WikiForms?

When Wikipedia community members need to collect data โ€” for surveys, admin tasks, research, or quizzes โ€” they typically rely on Google Forms or similar third-party tools. This means community data leaves the Wikimedia ecosystem and is subject to corporate privacy policies.

WikiForms keeps everything within Wikimedia infrastructure, is fully open-source, and respects the community's values of transparency and privacy.
